Development Overview
MnDOT's Interstate 494 design build project added one additional through lane in each direction for 7.8 miles of the freeway through Minnetonka and Eden Prairie. The project included reconstruction of the interchanges at Highway 62 and Highway 7.
Project Scope
Mr. Spack worked in the design build office as part of the consultant team. He designed traffic signals to MnDOT standards for six intersections, including interconnect. The traffic signal designed for the western ramp intersection of the I-494/Highway 62 interchange accommodated Minnesota's first triple left turn lane.
Accomplishments
Mr. Spack designed and drafted traffic signal plans for six intersections adjacent to I-494. This included designing the traffic signal for the first triple left turn lane in Minnesota.
